World Breastfeeding Week Big Latch On Events in Yakima, Toppenish, and Grandview, Wash. Friday, August 2

YAKIMA – In addition to offering prenatal and postpartum breastfeeding support for mothers year round, Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic is celebrating World Breastfeeding Week, Aug. 1-7.


As part of the celebration week, Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic will join the global community in “The Big Latch On” throughout Yakima Valley, Friday, Aug. 2.


The events will take place at the following locations:


Big Latch On – Yakima

Friday Aug. 2

9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Franklin Park

Big Latch On – Toppenish

Friday Aug. 2

Pioneer Park

Big Latch On – Grandview

All are welcome to celebrate community breastfeeding support. There will be food, door prizes, and family friendly activities. At 10:30 a.m. we will join the international community by joining in on The Big Latch On.


“We want to make sure all moms feel supported and encouraged in reaching their breastfeeding goals,” Registered Dietitian Stacy Hackenmueller said. “What better way than to come together, celebrate breastfeeding, and win fun prizes?”


The Global Big Latch On takes place at registered locations around the world, where women gather together to breastfeed and offer peer support. Their friends, family and community join this celebration to promote and support breastfeeding. Volunteers from within the community host each location.
