High School Shadowing

Shadowing for high school juniors and seniors is limited to 4 hours total unless by special arrangement. All high school applicants requesting shadowing placement with Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic must meet the following requirements prior to the start of placement:

  • Complete the required application and orientation documents.
  • The application must be signed by student and parent/guardian if the student is not yet 18.
  • All shadowing placements are subject to a criminal background check.
  • Upon placement approval, all shadowing candidates must agree to complete and return timesheets and evaluation forms as provided.
  • Placement with Yakima Vallery Farm Workers Clinic is subject to the above terms and staff availability.

The following additional information is required a minimum of 10 business days before the placement start date. You may send us electronic copies of the following documents when you apply:

  • A statement explaining why you selected Yakima Vallery Farm Workers Clinic for your shadowing with a list of 3 learning goals for the experience.
  • Proof of current Two-Step Tuberculosis Skin Test or other acceptable documentation of TB status.

Senior Project Requirements

High school seniors may be approved to complete shadowing for 8-16 hours in total. If you need more than 16 hours total, please make arrangements to complete the additional hours elsewhere. The following information is required a minimum of 15 business days before the placement start date:

  • Complete required application (signed by parent/guardian if the student is less than 18 years old) and orientation documents.
  • Criminal background check as completed by Yakima Vallery Farm Workers Clinic.

You may send us electronic copies of the following documents when you apply

  • A copy of your project proposal explaining why you selected Yakima Vallery Farm Workers Clinic and 3-5 specific learning goals. This must be signed by the student and school advisor.
  • Proof of current Two-Step Tuberculosis Skin Test or other acceptable documentation of TB status.
  • Seasonal Influenza vaccination.
  • All health tests are candidate responsibility and expense.

Additional Information

  • Upon placement approval, all shadowing candidates agree to complete and return timesheets as provided.
  • Placement with Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic is subject to the above terms and staff availability.
