Dental Director Named to Prestigious College

11/13/2009

Mark Koday, DDS, dental director for the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic, has been inducted as a fellow in the International College of Dentistry.

To be selected for membership, a dentist must be nominated by a current fellow, then pass a lengthy review process that evaluates a candidate’s service to the profession and his community. There are only about 160 members throughout Washington state.

This is Koday’s second induction into a prestigious dental organization this year. In July he was granted a fellowship in the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an honorary dental service organization with about 7,000 members worldwide. Fellowship is by invitation only and is extended to dentists who have been judged by their peers as outstanding leaders in the profession.

Koday has been practicing since 1978 and has served as the Farm Workers Clinic’s dental director since 1986. He is also the director of Northwest Dental Residency, a Commission on Dental Accreditation-accredited program offering advanced training in general dentistry, and is a member of the Washington State Dental Quality Assurance Commission.
