Teaching the Next Generation of Healthcare Professionals

For those who love to teach, Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic offers a chance to make a lasting impact on residents, students, patients, and on the future of health care. If you’re looking for a place where you can grow professionally, inspire tomorrow’s professionals, and strengthen the health of your community, you’ll find that opportunity here

Our physicians, pharmacists, dentists, and nurses play an active role in shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals. Many of our clinics offer opportunities to teach. Whether precepting medical residents, mentoring pharmacy residents, or supervising dental students, we encourage providers and staff to share their expertise in a setting where education is a core part of community health.

Residents and students learn more than clinical skills at Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic, they learn how to care for diverse populations, navigate social determinants of health, and practice with cultural humility. As a preceptor, you will help them understand what it means to deliver compassionate, community‑centered care; lessons they will carry into every stage of their careers.

Our integrated care model creates a rich learning environment where collaboration is the norm. Residents and students work alongside multidisciplinary teams, gaining exposure to behavioral health integration, care coordination, population health strategies, and team‑based care. You will help them see how each role contributes to a patient’s overall well‑being. This holistic perspective is one of the greatest strengths of teaching in an FQHC.
