The teenage years can be difficult. They can be emotionally, physically, and mentally difficult for both teens and parents.

Parents and their families are invited to join Dr. Megan Prior, at a Town Hall event, Wednesday, April 18, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Safe Haven Community Center.  Dr. Prior is a Seattle Children’s REACH Resident.

Dr. Prior will walk parents through “What to Do for Your Teen’s Health” by Registered Nurses Gloria Mayer and Ann Kuklierus. The book helps parents address topics including emotions, body changes, and other teen issues including friends, school, exercise, sports, eating disorders, self-injury, anger, violence and bullying, depression, and suicide.

The event is open to all families. The first 20 families will receive a free copy of the book. Refreshments will be served, and activities for teens and children are planned.

Safe Haven is located at 410 Washington Avenue in Toppenish.
