TOPPENISH – A new adventure is about to begin for moms-to-be in Toppenish next week and Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic wants to shower moms with gifts and resources.

Moms are invited to a free baby shower on Wednesday, July 17, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Astria Toppenish Hospital, located at 502 West Fourth in Toppenish. A baby shower for Spanish speaking moms will be offered the same day from 12:30 to 3 p.m.

The baby shower is open to moms at least 28 weeks pregnant, who will enjoy food, games, gifts, and a hospital tour. Expectant mothers will also hear from local health professionals about available resources, and what to expect before, during, and after delivery.

Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic resources at the event include: WIC, Community Health Services, Breastfeeding Peer Education, Primary Care Nutrition Services, and the Lower Valley Parents as Teachers group. Also on hand at the event will be Astria Toppenish Hospital representatives.

“Our goal at the baby shower is to introduce moms to all the services Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic and Astria have to offer,” Jessica Johnson, Community Relations Coordinator said.

Interested attendees can call (509) 865-1506 or text “ForBaby” to 85511 to register.

Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic, Astria Toppenish Hospital, Community Health Plan of Washington, Coordinated Care, and Molina Healthcare co-sponsor this event.
