Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic participates in many outreach events annually throughout our service areas in both Washington and Oregon. YVFWC has organized or participated in over 70 events across our service area.
Our numerous community events drive our patient-centered approach to care and connect community members beyond the walls of our facilities to pharmacy services, dental care, behavioral health services, nutritionists, social workers, and more.
Through our community outreach projects, YVFWC has enrolled over 56,000 individuals into health care plans under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) since 2014. Community events are essential to reaching our uninsured community members and patients, many of whom have never had access to health care coverage.
Outreach events include health fairs, with our staff on hand to answer questions and provide information. Baby showers, one of many events hosted by our health professionals, educate women on how to have a healthier pregnancy while adding food, fun, and games to the parties. Our staff also takes the opportunity to be part of the community by participating in the Martin Luther King Day March, the May Day March, as well as bringing resources to the communities at farmers markets, health and resource fairs, and local festivals.
