‘The Big Latch On’ event scheduled for Aug. 4

Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic (YVFWC) continues celebrating World Breastfeeding Week, Aug. 1-7.

In addition to offering prenatal and postpartum breastfeeding support for mothers, YVFWC is sponsoring “The Big Latch On” events throughout the Yakima Valley, Friday, August 4.

The events will take place at the following:

Big Latch On – Yakima
9:30 to 11 a.m.
Sarg Hubbard Park
111 S. 18th Street

Big Latch On – Toppenish
9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Pioneer Park
410 West Second Avenue

Big Latch On – Grandview
9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

All are welcome to celebrate community breastfeeding support with food, door prizes and family friendly activities. At 10:30 a.m. we will join the international community by joining in on The Big Latch On. Last year, nearly 18,000 mother-baby pairs participated in this empowering event.

The Global Big Latch On takes place at registered locations around the world, where women gather together to breastfeed and offer peer support to each other. Their friends, family and community join this celebration to promote and support breastfeeding. Volunteers from within the community host each location.
