Getting Started with Video Visits
A video visit is just like an in-person appointment but done over video. You and your provider will see and talk with each other in real time. You can discuss symptoms, review lab results, and create a care plan together. The same attentive care, the same trusted team, just in a more convenient setting. To get started with video visits, you have two options:
MyChart
Using the MyChart app is the best option if you like to plan ahead. MyChart allows you to complete your eCheck-In 48 hours before your appointment so everything is ready when your visit begins. When it’s time, you simply open your appointment and tap “Begin Visit” to connect with your provider. It’s a smooth, guided experience that helps avoid delays. MyChart is also your personalized online access to your health care information, where you can:
- View medications, immunizations, allergies, and health history
- Schedule or request appointments and review past visits
- Get updates on recent tests and lab results
- Communicate with your health care team
- Request prescription renewals
- Get health education tips and instructions from your provider
- Access your family’s records, appointments, immunization records, growth charts and more
- Take self-tests for many common health conditions
- Pay any outstanding balances

Getting Ready for Your Video Visit
When you join your visit, you may briefly wait in a secure virtual waiting room until your provider connects. This is completely normal and works much like waiting in an exam room at the clinic.
