Dear Colleagues and Communities,
For over 40 years, Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic network of care has been a trusted partner for families across Washington and Oregon.
During the COVID-19 crisis, we want to be clear: our clinic doors remain open and we are continuing to deliver care to our patients.
While we are limiting some programs to minimize large group gatherings, and some elective dental procedures to reduce exposure, we want you to know we are still providing services for our patients. Established patients can come to the clinic, call their clinic, or message their providers through the patient portal.
We have also established screening protocols at our entrances to ensure that those patients requiring services not related to COVID-19 are well protected as they visit their health care providers.
Effective immediately, we are taking additional protective screening measures to ensure our common areas are clean and safe for all patients.
If you have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, runny nose, congestion, or a sore throat, please call your primary care provider to discover what steps we will take to ensure you receive the care you need without risking others.
Examples of additional steps we are taking are:
• We have established screening protocols at every clinic to ensure the safety of our patients
• A more robust masking protocol for patients
• Working with patients to ensure only those essential to that day’s visit are entering the clinic
• Increased already-stringent cleaning protocols
• Expanding access to services being delivered by phone including WIC appointments
I want to thank everyone who is taking the advice of all public health professionals: limit your exposure by practicing social distancing, wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, and avoid unnecessary travel.
