Dr. Shirley was born and raised in the small community of Gleed just outside of Yakima, Washington. She completed her undergraduate studies at Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington where she studied Biochemistry, Biology, and English. At an early age, she fell in love with the PNW and decided that she wanted to train in order to serve the community of this wonderful region. She graduated from Western University of Health Sciences COMP-Northwest in Lebanon, Oregon, and is thrilled to continue her medical training in a more rural setting at Sollus Northwest Family Medicine Residency. Her particular areas of interest are women and children’s health, as well as osteopathic manipulative treatment. Outside of medicine, she loves to spend time in the mountains hiking, snowshoeing, and skiing. She previously worked for the Forest Service out of the Naches Ranger District for 6 years. She keeps her mind engaged by reading all kinds of books and stays physically active by participating in CrossFit. Dr. Shirley is excited to join the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic team and have the opportunity to come back home and serve the people of the Central Washington region.
