Congratulations to Spokane for their impending fluoride system! With a 6-1 vote from the Spokane City Council, a $4 million dollar grant was accepted, beginning the feasibility and design portion of the project. Fluoride is a tremendous gain for the health of any community. The advantages of fluoride go well beyond preventing tooth decay. Studies show that the oral health benefits lead to better health outcomes in a communities overall health. There is also evidence that residents in fluoridated areas see better labor market results, leading to healthier economies. Spokane is a rapidly growing city and we’re so thrilled they’ve invested in the health of their residents.
